Dinsmore, a TED Speaker and world traveler, was recently killed by a falling boulder while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – he was on the third leg of his world tour with his wife. He was someone who I had found who had the uncanny abililty to make the most out of his day, by looking and planning things one week at a time instead of planning things one day at a time – this leaves room for our emotions and our ‘feelings.’ If we plan everything out one day at a time our goals are a lot less than what they could be if we gave an entire weeks focus to one major task. For example a daily goal list could consist of making a couple appointments and making a website post or cleaning up the online search of yourself or your name on YouTube or the internet. Perhaps it could be taking care of payments or making a certain amount each day. These are good however if you’re not able to make them or if you try and do them all you may feel overwhelmed and may not be able to do it . That’s why I suggest seeing things one week at a time instead of one day at a time. We live in weeks, not days. We can look at all seven days, and find space for things more often than not.
For example this week, I would say that my Eat the Frog task is to book my ticket to LA for Halloween and set up the appointments with people out there to make $10,000 for my Rap.com website. The top three tasks would be to finish an Eric the Prince app which can be easily updated, to finish the lyrics for the songs I’m working on, and to hire a web tech company to finish building out EricthePrince dot Com and Rap dot Com. I would also say that my target weekly income will be at least $500 and that’s how much a ticket is to LA – so anything more than that can go towards the other goals because the ticket to LA is the first priority. If I were to break it down into a daily goal I could say I could make 20 phone calls and make a sale for selling advertising space on Rap Com, posting 20 ads for selling stuff around the house, posting my moms botox, and making posts for the tours and activities Angel Concierge offers. The eat the frog for today (Number one Task) would be organizing my ‘Fiverr’ life – the tasks that I am paying people to do, and that means going through every single one of my gigs that I’ve ever ordered and putting it in a mind-map on my PC, and through that I could download a mind-map program and sync it with the Mac. I would also like to organize the EverNote’s that I’ve got and put all of the things together – and find some of the old notes like my Introspection diary and piece them together.
